Levels: Minimum 8 weeks
This workshop is designed to take your fabric skills to the next level by adding the artistic quality necessary for performance. It will challenge you to explore the idea of character development, artistic movement, and thematic concepts within your craft. It is available to all who have had at least 6 sessions on fabric or a minimum of 6 weeks experience. We are going to have a lot of fun and get you out of your comfort zone! Join me whether it is time to take your practice to the next level, get ready to create an act, or just want to explore new ideas for a new act. I can’t wait to see you there!
Leisha Knight spent 8 years performing for Cirque du Soleil’s “Love” and has performed in other gala events and Cirque productions around Europe. Prior to her Circus career, she was an NCAA All-American Gymnast who placed 7th All-Around at the National Championships. Leisha also performed and toured with her 3 sisters doing acrodance numbers that they choreographed together. She has performed with and choreographed for the Nevada Ballet’s “A Choreographer’s Showcase,” worked with “Grounded Aerial,” and taught acrodance for many years. Leisha is also a registered yoga teacher who taught yoga at “Love and currently teaches yoga for Cirque du Soleil’s “Amaluna.” She currently travels with “Amaluna” and teaches workshops in many cities where they perform. She has taught aerial silks and straps, acrodance, broadway style movement, yoga, and tumbling in locations around the world including France, Los Angeles, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Birmingham, Anchorage, Boston, and New York City. Leisha is passionate about movement arts and artists. She loves contributing to the artistic development of individuals in every town that she happens to visit. Leisha has had the amazing opportunity to work with fabulous teachers and directors and loves to share the knowledge of her own experience with others.
