Dear friends,

After a long and anticipated wait, we’ve finally found the perfect studio! We are pleased to announce that Sky Gym officially has a home of its own, and we will be moving into our beautiful new, state of the art aerial studio very soon!

Our new home is centrally located in Sandy Springs on Roswell Rd., just above Abernathy. It features a soaring main aerial room with 25ft. ceilings and three walls of natural light and a second dance studio with sprung hardwood flooring. We will have full climate control, floor to ceiling dance mirrors, stereo systems, lighting systems, and our own clean bathrooms! We will have a lot of space to house productions, competitions, workshops, and many other awesome events.  We will also have more open practice times, additional classes on silks, and brand new classes including trapeze, aerial yoga, acro yoga, lyra, mixology, poi and a whole lot more!

Wall Crawlers has been a great start for us to nurture the art that we love. We want to thank you for sticking with us and developing a strong community as we grow. We are so proud of you, and we know that once we have our own studio, we will all do great things!

The final stage of our studio construction is ahead of schedule, and we may be moving in sooner than we think! We will start transitioning our classes to the new studio in a few weeks. We will have a lot of news and exciting events to celebrate our opening. Polish those routines and break out your costumes because the Student Showcase will be a major part of our grand opening festivities. Keep an eye out for details and other exciting announcements.

Love it! I stumbled across Amber’s classes after some research on aerial silks. I’ve already completed the beginner levels and have just started intermediate classes….I LOVE IT! Amber is such an amazing teacher! These classes are a great way to add something different and exciting to your work out routine.

I had heard of aerial silks and things like Cirque du Soleil before but had never actually thought I could learn to do that stuff. When my friend told me she was going to try an aerial silks class I was up for it but didn’t know what to expect. From that first class I have been hooked! I just started advanced classes and I’m still amazed at all that I’ve learned. I always get excited about going to class and learning new things, especially drops and doubles work. Amber and the other instructors are awesome and they really help you learn things at a pace that works for you. Even with no dance, gymnastics or other acrobatic experience I’ve still been able to quickly pick up on a lot, and it’s always exciting to master a new move or drop. Every class is challenging but it’s great to push yourself and your body in new ways. I absolutely love the Sky Gym and I’m hoping that one day I can even get some silks of my own. I highly recommend it for anyone that’s looking for a fun and exciting workout that you will actually look forward to!

I saw P!nk on the Grammies and thought, “I want to do that!” and I looked around for places in Atlanta that offered aerial silks classes. I found a couple and have tried them out. The Sky Gym by far supercedes any of the places I tried. Amber and all the trainers I have worked with at Sky Gym are incredible about explaining correct form and breaking each move and pose down so that the “trick” is easier to perform and is done correctly to avoid injury. They are all very patient and welcoming and made me feel right at home on the silks! Actually they make me feel like an aerial artist and trust me I am a novice… but when I’m in that class I feel like a performer! We have so much fun! It’s a great workout (you will be sore in places you didn’t dream you could be sore in)… but it’s a blast! We goof off (monkey legs/feet!! ha!) but we learn so much too! It’s intense but Amber is good at teaching and meeting you at your individual level. Even when there are others in the class with you, she still gives you her undivided attention, encouragement and advice. Their Wings of Steel is kick-butt!! It’s probably one of the best strength classes I have ever taken! I love Sky Gym and am constantly trying to bribe and harass my friends to try it!! I believe aerial silks is something everyone should try… it’s one of those bucket list things!! But be prepared… you will fall in love with it and become addicted!!

Now you can practice aerial silks at home! Buy your aerial fabric from Sky Gym and know exactly what you are getting. We sell the same equipment that we train on every day, so you know you can trust it. It is also the same material that Cirque du Soleil uses for its aerial fabrics performances. Other companies sell parachute material aerial hammocks that pinch and don’t envelope the body like our fabric or medium/high stretch fabric that is hard to climb.

Sky Gym’s aerial fabric is a specialized material made of a synthetic tricot blend that holds a minimum of 2,000lbs. It is triple woven from high density fibers, giving it incredible strength, yet stretches both vertically and horizontally. This low stretch aerial silk fabric is the most versatile type of aerial fabric. It climbs easily, yet stretches enough to cushion the body during full height drops. The fabric has a silky sheen.

The Aerial Hammock (sling) is 24′ of material and hangs 10′ when rigged. It will fit in a space with 8′-14′ ceilings. The Aerial Silk Fabric is 50′ of material and hangs 25′ when rigged, so it can be rigged up to 25′ high. All fabric comes in a width of 110″. We ship via UPS, and the products normally arrives in 4-5 business days.

Shipping extra. Aerial fabric is sold without hardware. Aerial fabric must be hung by a licensed rigger. Aerial hammock hang-point should hold a minimum of 1,000lbs (no drops) and the full height aerial fabric hang-point should hold a minimum of 2,500lbs. Impact forces generated by full height drops could generate 3x the body weight, and a minimum of 10x body weight safety factor should be built in. By purchasing or using our silks, the purchaser or user agrees that Sky Gym is not liable for any damage, injury, or death caused during these activities. The use of this product is at your own risk.
